Akinola Market
Ipetumodu, Osun State, Nigeria
Akinola market opens just on FRIDAYS, it’s a very communal market that embraces all neighboring communities and town. They major in all local produce, ranging from grains, peas, tubers, and the rest. Sellers come from different states to sell to buyers who also come from different states.
The market has no formal stall or shop, just a vast land, where everyone and anyone is welcome to buy and sell. During opening, local security are seen around to maintain law and order, and collect a levy “token” to maintain CLEANLINESS.
the market has been in existence for more that 120 years and it’s still in it glory.
